Dorsey welcomes participants in the FHA Hero Cooking Competition on Saturday, February 27, 2010. CAHSEE for all 10th graders is March 16 and 17, 2010.

Vision and Mission Statment
Vision Statement

The Dorsey High School Learning Community will strive for academic excellence by providing a rigorous curriculum, best educational practices, and extracurricular enrichment activities for all students. We will integrate technology throughout the curriculum and help to train, prepare and support teachers as they engage in ongoing assessment and reform of educational practices. We will work collaboratively to strengthen student, parent, staff, and community involvement.

Expected Student Learning Results

Students at Dorsey High
  • Read, write, and speak at or above grade level employing language appropriate for a variety of audiences and disciplines.
  • Exhibit information literacy by selecting appropriate problem solving options and applying critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and respect for themselves and others by working collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Be prepared to transition to the next step in education: college, career, and other life experiences.
Use technology as one tool to achieve the above outcomes participate in artistic, academic and world cultures, expanding range and scope as ethical human beings and as students.
