Alex was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and received her bachelors of athletic training from Loyola Marymount University in May 2011. After graduation and sitting for her board of certification exam, Alex was hired at Select Physical Therapy in Los Angeles as a full time in-clinic athletic trainer. Through Select PT, she worked at Narbonne High School as an athletic trainer for the 2011-2012 football season where Narbonne won the 2012 LA City Championship. After her first year at a high school, Alex decided to expand her education and enroll in California University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Rehabilitation Sciences program and graduated in December 2013. That same year, Alex received her certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, enhancing her Masters in Rehabilitation Sciences. While at Select PT, Alex worked with several of Dr. Shield’s patients during their rehabilitation, including Dr. Shield’s himself. It was soon after this, she joined the Team HEAL foundation.
In her spare time, Alex continues to advocate as an athletic trainer and works several youth soccer, volleyball, softball, and basketball tournaments. She has also served as an intern athletic trainer for the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks, an athletic trainer to the NFL Player’s Association, and an athletic trainer to Adidas Nations basketball. Currently, Alex is working on her Doctorate in Athletic Training from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona; she graduates in June 2019.
